The EU Ecolabel is recognised across Europe
Obtaining the EU Ecolabel for your product or service is a reliable and scientifically verifiable way of letting your customers know that your company is improving its environmental sustainability by manufacturing products or providing services with a reduced environmental impact without compromising on quality. The EU Ecolabel makes your products stand out against your competitors. It adds real value to your business credentials and company image and, most importantly, helps to boost your sales figures and minimise your costs. For example, EU Ecolabelled hotels have reported reduced spending on home care products and samples, and savings on water and energy use.
Each set of criteria has been developed to ensure that about 10% to 20% of the most environmentally friendly products currently on the market can meet them. While the EU Ecolabel award is a realistic goal for producers, it ensures good performance and reduced environmental impact for consumers.
There are nearly 45,000 products and services on the market that have been awarded the EU Ecolabel. These products and services cover everything from detergents to shoes and paints to paper. You can even find EU Ecolabel tourist accommodations and campsites. To discover all the products and services available in-store and online throughout Europe and worldwide, visit www.ec.europa.eu/ecat/
