DEB has a range of hand cleaners that have been awarded the EU Ecolabel and Paul explained outlined the key elements of the EU Ecolabel criteria for 'Rinse-off cosmetics' which includes hand soaps and shampoos:
restricting the use of hazardous substances,
ensuring ingredients were biodegradeable,
sustainable sourcing of palm oil and its derivatives.
Paul emphasised that the criterion to make sure the product was functional and fit for use was an essential element in selling the ecological benefits of an Ecolabelled product!
