News: EU Ecolabel criteria for Textiles amended
The European Commission has recently published a decision in the Official Journal of the EU (OJEU) amending the EU Ecolabel criteria for the award of the EU Ecolabel to textile products.

The amendments include:
- expanding the definition of textile products that can apply to include intermediate products.
- extending the validity period of the criteria from 30 June 2018 to 31st December 2020.
- clarification of the criteria in relation to organic cotton, transgenic cotton, IPM cotton and pesticides to harmonise them with those used in the criteria for the footwear and furniture product groups.
Other changes relate to the criteria for corporate responsibility and the standards for colour fastness of textiles.
