After a rigorous process of evidence gathering and consultation with interested stakeholders including 2 working group meetings, the revised criteria for paper products (copying & graphic paper, tissue paper, newsprint) and lubricants were approved at a meeting of the Regulatory Committee of the EU Ecolabelling Board (EUEB) held on 29th June 2016 in Brussels. The Regulatory Committee comprises representatives of the national governments of the EU.

The four sets of criteria (incorporated in two draft decisions - 1 for paper products and 1 for lubricants) will now go forward to the Council of the European Union for adoption. Once criteria are adopted they are published as Commission Decisions in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU). It is at this point they become available for companies to apply against.

The draft criteria, technical reports and presentations made at the working group meetings for paper products and lubricants are available at the website below.
